I can't have jalapenos

Over several weeks I took notes of overheard conversations. I was inspired by Eoin Ryan, who is a current illustrator who was influenced by Chinese map printing. His work uses simple cubist shapes to create an image; primarily using animals as his subject matter. Inspired by his work, I responded to one of the quotes and developed a final image. "I can't have jalapenos ever since I go it in my eye" is a very humorous comment made which I developed and experimented with. I wanted to explore various different techniques to create a layered aesthetic; for example using gouache, acetate, photoshop and stencils.
